joins our friends the Beyond the Bookends bloggers,
Kirsten Baritz and Jackie Robins,
in a new book campaign with
Our Closet In Your Neighborhood and JFCS

You are invited to purchase books to be given to members of underserved communities throughout Philadelphia. Jackie and Kirsten have chosen a book for each month of the upcoming year to encourage community members to read and share in conversations about books.

Our Closet In Your Neighborhood (OCIYN) partners with host sites, such as community centers, churches, synagogues, hospitals, schools and other social service agencies located in central and high-need areas throughout the city. The program conducts weekly pop-up shops offering free high-quality clothing, fresh, locally sourced, healthy produce and pantry staples, and an onsite JFCS social worker to connect those in need to additional services and benefits. OCIYN also provides and delivers custom emergency clothing packages to community members experiencing crisis situations.

Now, thanks to your generosity, OCIYN will add a year of wonderful books to their pop-up shops.

Purchase the books you’d like to donate and we’ll get them to OCIYN for distribution.
